How to be Unstoppable

Fall in love with the process, and the perfecting of it. Detach yourself from your emotional investment to outcomes. God, that sounded very new-agey zenlightenment. But it’s true.

The woman who runs for the love of it, versus the man who only does it for some external aspiration, will go farther, longer and harder any day of the week.

Whatever it is you pursue. Learn to appreciate the chase and the thing you’re after will be yours very soon.

I had this epiphany with exercise. At first, it was to lose weight, to gain the attention of girls, to prove the naysayers I could, etc. Such reasons made for a powerful elixir that catalyzed change but they were fleeting and depended on emotion. Goals fueled by emotion are an uphill battle because emotions never stay long. I’d constantly gain weight, lose weight. When I looked good I was always trying to look better, never satisfied. Whenever we reach the point we “think” will be the answer our heads somehow moves that line a little farther.

So I try harder, and harder, and harder still. I’d go through bouts of resignation to exercise because it was too much effort. I’d be angry because others who looked better didn’t have to work as hard. Poor me.

“Why can’t I eat whatever I want, like they do, and still look good without a shirt on? Boo hoo!”

Another classic example of living in the world of what “Should be” rather than “what Is”. I somehow got over it as the years went on. I began to love exercise. One day, I broke my leg and all of the sudden I couldn’t exercise. I found myself yearning for the ability to get out of bed to sweat, struggle to catch my breath, feel the pavement beneath my 2 functional legs between long strides, grimace in pain as I pushed heavy loads off my chest.

It was then I realized I don’t Have exercise.

I Get to exercise.

My ability to exercise was a privilege. I had learned to love it, not for the muscles, but because of the many therapeutic and cathartic benefits I derive from it.

I was blessed to have full use of every part of my body to build it into whatever I wanted. Sure it wasn’t perfect, but I had the ability and privilege to test the limits of the body I have. I was a changed man. I was no longer bitter because I had to work hard, but began to love the journey of taking my body to its limits.

You can’t take that away. You have that, and you will never obsess over losing a pound again.

Whatever it is you’re doing. If you find yourself throwing a pity party, ask yourself is this really a “problem” or am I just forgetting that this undertaking is of my choosing and there’s probaby many many people who’d kill to be in my position.

When you start to lose your attachment to the outcome you can literally pursue whatever you want and be quite sure you will succeed. Things like performance anxiety, meeting expectations, looking stupid failing. None of these things stop you anymore.

Don’t confuse this for not trying. And when you fail, lose or what have you, don’t cloak it in “Oh, I don’t care about winning” You do, but it doesn’t define you.

When all things things are gone you will be left with unfathomable clarity and energy.

Let go of control of events. You never had it. Control yourself and your efforts. This makes you unstoppable.

A Shot in The Vein For Entrepreneurs. (Free E-book)

Making your Business Fun to Run.

es Posible?

Si Senor. It better be. We’ve all seen the businessman/shop-owner who is utterly consumed by his construction company/e-commerce site/floor-cleaning service, etc.

Every conversation with him entails dodging his flailing arms meant to convey his frustration about payroll, seedy employees, and cheap customers  as he speaks at volumes that beg to make eaves-droppers out of anyone within 15ft.

After you wipe his specks of saliva from your forehead and cheek, praising the heavens none made it in to your mouth, you offer a bit of sympathy for his woes as a business owner.

You think to yourself,

is this the alternative to having a job?

Breaking your back to run a business, constantly putting out fires, struggling to stay afloat?

Not ah. It doesn’t have to be.

I came across a free e-book that outlines the way. I literally can’t believe this book is free. Get it. Read it. Live it.

You Change 2 Things, You Change Everything

2495412867_292e9af449Everyone, if they took the time to look at their circumstances in the context of where they want to go, would realize one very critical thing:

There’s 1, maybe 2 things, that if I learned, would change everything.

For me, as an entrepreneur seeking to grow thriving businesses, both online and brick-and-mortor, I knew those two skills would be Marketing, and Internet Literacy.

When I say marketing, I mean the ability to construct carefully executed marketing campaigns across many advertising mediums for many industries for the sole purpose of getting customers in the door or in front of my product/service. This also includes the capacity to test and measure the effectiveness (ROI) of such campaigns in such a way that every marketing dollar be maximized and there is no “shot-in-the-dark-fingers-crossed” dollars wasted.

Internet literacy is the ability to command and orchestrate the vast resources available on the internet to execute and advance the ideas/causes/products for which I care about immediately without having to sit paralyzed by the sheer volume of information. Such things include running adwords campaigns, constructing websites, use of social media, driving traffic, blogging, etc.

These two skills allow me to immediately put ideas I have into action. I can no longer rationalize putting my ideas off  for some future date.

I feel strongly that these 2 skills are the critical 2 for most people striving to create a life less ordinary.

Artists, musicians, hobbyists, anyone with the desire to create something.

So, What Forte(s) would catalyze your ascent to remarkability?

The World Needs You

Believe it. I do, to my very core.

Pardon me while I get all existential on you. Everyday I see people, plotting along. Empty. Living the life of someone who doesn’t really think that who they are is of any significance. Actually I’m not even sure I’d call it living. More like existence.

I see some girls approaching their mid-twenties in a silent panic to find a husband before their youth expires and their porcelain skin ages. Guys in the gym cycling steroids to pack on muscle and sculpt their bodies into a citadel to veil a weak sense of self. Both beautiful on the outside but empty without validation from “out there”.

Young grads oozing with potential, denying intuition, taking the “safe” route ,trading sovereignty for salary. Look anywhere and you’ll notice. People just going through the motions. Walking slumber.

Its heart-breaking.

It’s because they have no idea that the world needs them, desperately. So many of us have no idea what it is we want out of life. Some have no idea what we do better than anyone else. I think we do know but amidst the noise of societal expectations, desire for things, and self-doubt it becomes hard to hear or discern what we want.

You need to know that what you have we need. We need it badly and we need you to find it. So figure out how to share it with us. The world is a very messed up place. This is both a problem and opportunity. It means we all have a place in it’s repair.

What do you bring to the table?

Take the final weeks in December to think about how you can make this year, the year that changes everything.

Copy Sells, But Whose Buying? My Landing Page Site Copy

As a fitness entrepreneur, the way I see it there’s 2 routes.

The: Hype, Feed off Fear and Emotions, Pseudo Sense of Urgency & Scarcity Hard-sell Approach

Exhibit 1.

“ONE TIME OFFER!! Expires in 40 seconds!! Only 7 No, 3 Spots Left! Act  Now or You’re a Total Effing Loser! Buy now. . .Loser!”

Couple that with questionable testimonials and scantily-clad hard-body pictures and you got yourself an italian suit- pinky ring Landing page

The Let-me-level-with-you, speak you language, meet your needs, educate you, so you can buy or not buy freely makes no diff to me, high-road approach.

I’ve seen great examples here, here, and here

The former approach is one of manipulation and it is the way internet marketers are told their Copy should be. I remember studying some internet courses encouraging one to make hollow “review” websites for the purpose of coming off un-biased, when really its a cloaked attempt to push one’s own product. Not only is it biased, it’s flat-out deceiving.

This is why so many people are apprehensive to buy off the net. They don’t want to be scammed. It’s hard to find people we can trust here on the Internets. What a tangled web such conniving internet marketers weave.

This is Changing though. Web 2.0 is increasing the level of transparency and quality is rising above the dross like smoke from a flame.

The way I see it, the better what ever it is you are selling/providing is, the less need there is to use black-hat tactics to get bought.

I must begin at the beginning….

Hi. My names Ricky.

I’m an Entrepreneur (ultra-novice), a Elite Fitness Coach, Internet marketer, and aspiring do0gooder. This is my new site. Here I plan to do many things.

I’m an entrepreneur in fitness and web marketing. But i’m also very very new. Graduated a couple months ago so my idea is to profile, in real time, the beginning, middle, and unforeseen future of my career as an entreprepreneur.

The first of which will be the chronicles of starting a gym in a small town using little more than…

Social Media and Sweat Equity

Here you will see, as it happens, experiments in the marketing, growing, and sustaining of my business Heyday Elite Fitness

The trials and tribulations will be laid out before you so that you can learn from me, and I, you.

I’m also very much into living an etch-a-sketch life. Drawing life out by your own terms. If you mess up, shake it off and try again. I will be showing you how mine pans out here 🙂 Lets Get Started.
